A Southampton motorist has been fined more than £1,000 after flouting a temporary speed limit on the M27.
Matthew Griffin, 31, of Nutsea Road in Nursling, was travelling at 74mph in a 40mph zone.
Griffin was at the wheel of a Mercedes that was being driven westbound on the M27 at Hedge End on November 4 2023.
He travelling between junctions 8 and 7 when he fell foul of the law, Southampton Magistrates' Court was told.
Griffin, who admitted speeding, was fined £1,050 with £110 costs and a £420 victim services. His driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
