Bookings have opened for Hampshire’s summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.

The free scheme is available to eligible families, providing enriching activities and meals for children.

The programme, one of the largest in the UK, is expected to have around 7,000 children participating.

Around 70 providers will be delivering 180 schemes across the county.

"I can continue to work in the holidays now I have a childcare option."

HAF was launched nationally in 2018 by the Government to support low-income families during school holidays.

The programme is primarily aimed at children eligible for benefit-related free school meals, but up to 15 per cent of places are available for other children who may benefit from HAF support.

Councillor Roz Chadd, Hampshire County Council’s executive lead member for children’s services, said: "I’ve seen first-hand the incredible impact the HAF programme has on young people across Hampshire.

"For parents, it’s a welcome relief, offering safe, engaging environments and nutritious meals for their children."

Families can find more information and register to access HAF bookings through the Family Information and Services Hub.
