I travelled from Salisbury to the New Forest yesterday via Romsey.
Following a road atlas all was well until I arrived in Romsey.
I looked, in vain, for signs pointing to Lyndhurst and/or Brockenhurst.
I stopped and asked several people - some knowing the area but hopeless at giving any help.
How many 'tours' of Romsey I did, looking for the aforementioned two towns. I gave up.
Eventually, I found the M27 and signs for Lyndhurst - at last!
Therefore I strongly suggest that to help visitors to the New Forest that the authority responsible for road signs IMMEDIATELY do something about it BEFORE the holiday season really begins!
Your disappointedly,
Richard Mumford,
Salisbury
