Cunard has announced its newest programme of cruises that will be taking place in 2027 and 2028, with many leaving from Southampton.

There will be 195 new itineraries across its fleet, visiting 115 destinations in 32 countries between April 2027 and January 2028.

These new voyages include 93 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 18 overnight port calls and 33 late-evening departures.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, said: “This new programme is all about giving our guests more choice and more unforgettable voyages.

"Whether it’s Queen Anne visiting new destinations, Queen Elizabeth returning to favourite ports in the Med, or Queen Mary 2 sailing iconic routes with her usual style, there’s something to suit every kind of traveller.

"From exploring remarkable places to enjoying exceptional experiences on board, we’re proud to offer voyages that feel truly special from start to finish.”

Some of these new voyages will be taking in new locations, and here are five of the best that could visit on those journeys.

5 of the best new destinations to visit on Southampton Cunard cruises from 2027

Sorrento, Italy

The Queen Anne will be making a maiden call to Sorrento in Italy as part of the new voyages at Cunard.

According to Lonely Planet, it is a town of "lemons, high-pedigree hotels and plunging cliffs".

Those scenic clifftop views are just one thing you can take in alongside fascinating museums, characterful markets and its proximity to the Amalfi Coast.

La Rochelle, France

La Rochelle is another new location that the Queen Anne will be making a stop at.

According to the La Rochelle tourism website, there are plenty of "architectural treasures" to find on the cobbled streets.

This includes the Grosse Horloge clock tower, half-timbered houses, vaulted secret passages and much more.

Charlottetown, Canada

Charlottetown in Canada will be visited by the Queen Mary 2 as part of the new programme.

It is the capital of the country's Prince Edward Island, and offers plenty of culinary and cultural experiences.

The Discover Charlottetown website says: "Soak in the romance and nostalgia of our postcard-perfect streetscapes.

"Wander along a boardwalk where lobster boats and sailboats cozy up. Stay in a B&B that will give you serious Anne energy. Sound good? It’s time to discover Charlottetown."

Riga, Latvia

The capital of Latvia will be a new destination for the Queen Victoria ship as part of Cunard's journeys in 2027.

According to Lonely Planet, it's a place where "medieval mysteries live alongside contemporary art performances".

Visitors can experience traditional Latvian dishes and modern Nordic cuisine as part of its culinary scene, and hundreds of Art Nouveau buildings line historic streets.

Trieste, Italy

Located next to the Adriatic Sea, Trieste will be a new spot for the Queen Elizabeth.

Lonely Planet says: "Tumbling down to the Adriatic from a wild, karstic plateau and almost entirely surrounded by Slovenia, Trieste is physically and psychologically isolated from the rest of the Italian peninsula.

"As such, it preserves its own unique border-town culture and retains a fascinating air of fluidity encapsulated in the Triestini dialect, a strange melange of Italian, Austrian-German, Croatian and Greek."

Attractions include the Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, which is Italy's largest sea-facing piazza.

It is the perfect place for a bite to eat or a drink, where you can look out to the ships on the horizon.
