A serial offender has been branded a "wife-beater" and a serious risk to women by a judge.
Violent thug Jay Moody punched his partner in the face during an argument, leaving her seriously injured and in need of at least three operations.
The mum-of-two has "lasting damage" and still has no feeling to the left side of her face.
Jay Moody (Image: Hampshire Constabulary) Prosecuting, Archie Manby said he committed a series of violent offences in less than 24 hours.
The court heard an argument broke out on October 4, 2024, between him and his former girlfriend.
“She wanted him out of her flat as her children were coming round but he would not leave”, Mr Manby said.
“The victim provided Moody with money for a bus fare home, and he started making accusations against her.
“He was holding a bottle of wine, and she tried to take the bottle from him, and the defendant responded by punching her in the face.
“She hit the kitchen counter and was out cold.”
The last thing the woman remembers is waking up at Southampton General Hospital, Mr Manby said.
She suffered bruising and swelling to the left side of her face and a CT scan showed she had a left orbital floor fracture – the bone at the bottom of her eye was broken.

Eight months on from the ordeal, she remains under the ophthalmology team and is due to have a third surgery.
In a victim impact statement, read out by Mr Manby, the woman said the incident has completely changed her life.
“I still have no feeling on the left side of my face due to nerve damage”, she said.
“Jay was someone I used to love and trust, and I was hurt and confused by what he did.”
When he was arrested the following day, Moody lashed out at police officers by “pushing and kicking” them to evade arrest, Mr Munby said.
Mitigating, Rebecca McKnight said Moody has childhood trauma and has struggled with drink and drugs.
She said: “He said his actions were totally embarrassing and he is remorseful and ashamed.
“This is the most serious matter on his [criminal] record.”
Moody, of Lynden Gate, Southampton, previously pleaded guilty to three charges of assault by beating of an emergency worker, and a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
Judge Christopher Parker KC warned of the dangers he poses during his sentencing at Southampton Crown Court
The judge said Moody, 25, was “fuelled by too much drink and jealousy”.
“The victim has suspected lasting damage because you can’t control your temper.
“It was a grave and persistent injury.
“You are someone who is, what we used to call, a wife beater which is a shameful reputation to have.”
Moody was handed a three year prison sentence and an indefinite restraining order against the victim.
