A military festival will welcome two iconic World War II planes later this year.

Hampshire residents are gearing up to watch the iconic Spitfires whizz through the air at the Parco Victory Festival and Air Display in Lee on the Solent in September.

Taking place across three days between September 19 and 21, the festival, takes place at the former HMS Daedalus airfield.

On Saturday, September 20, the Spitfires are due to make their flypast and residents in Hampshire should look to the skies before 2pm and then again from around 4.15pm.

Alongside the air show will be a military parade marching along the roads of Lee-on-the-Solent. 

A festival spokesperson said: "We are pleased to announce that we have two Spitfires from The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight attending the Parco Victory Festival & Air Display.

"The two RAF Spitfires will land at 2pm and will be on ground for a refuel and on static display until they take off 4:15 for a flypast (three passes) at 4:29 then they will depart."
