An application has been lodged by a city centre hairdressers to turn the floors above their salon into a living space.
Gillian Reilly of Hair and Beauty Southampton at 6 Hanover Buildings submitted the plans to change the use of just the upper floors of the building from commercial, business and service to residential.
The application form notes that there would be some slight internal alterations required to facilitate this, including the "removal and addition of stud walls".
Hanover Buildings is described as a "purpose built commercial" building in the plans.
The new living space would be used for "ancillary accommodation" to hairdressing use, as the salon remains open downstairs.
