An application to turn a former chiropractor's office and other spaces into housing in the New Forest has been approved.

Developers asked New Forest District Council if they could green light a change of use turn 20 and 20a New Street in Lymington from offices into two living spaces.

A planning statement filed says that the buildings have been used "as offices for many years", with the exception of the ground floor which was used as a chiropractor's office.

The application has now been approved, meaning the space can be turned into one two-bedroom house and one three-bedroom dwelling.

Lymington and Pennington Town Council had no objections to the plan.

Documents filed argued that the area is considered to be suitable for residential use, requiring "no external alteration and only minimal internal alteration to achieve this".

Some six parking spaces serve the offices and will remain to be available for those living in the houses.

The planning statement also noted that  the old chiropractor's office "does not contain a display window or indeed any other feature that would indicate that it is in commercial use", therefore arguing that there would be no "obvious" use that the building had been changed.
