LONG delays on the M3 are due to a multi-car crash and a 'large fuel spillage', according to authorities.
National Highways released a statement on Thursday, June 5, which said: "Lanes 2 and 3 remain closed on the northbound carriageway of the M3 near Junction 11 after a collision, which also caused a large fuel spillage across both lanes.
"Traffic is currently passing the scene on Lane 1, but there are delays of over an hour, with queues stretching back to Junction 13."

At the time of writing, National Highways and the AA are reporting delays of more than one hour and potentially as long as one and a half hours.
The statement follows that of the police, which said: "A three-car collision on the northbound carriageway near J11 was reported at 2.14pm.
"No injuries were sustained, but two lanes were closed. Officers handed the scene over to Highways just after 3pm."
