Oxfordshire has had its fair share of contestants on ITV’s hit reality show Love Island.

Returning to screens on Monday, June 9, this year’s series will feature former Oxford United academy player Dejon Noel-Williams.

The 26-year-old signed a professional contract with the U’s in 2018, but failed to make a first team appearance.

One previous contestant from the county includes Sharon Gaffka, who starred in series seven back in 2021.

The then 25-year-old civil servant and former Miss International UK from Didcot lasted 18 days in the villa.

Since leaving the show, Ms Gaffka has worked with Thames Valley Police to raise awareness among young people on how officers deal with sexual offenders.

The reality TV contestant also became an anti-spiking campaigner having been spiked in London once.

Chloe Burrows, from Bicester, competed alongside Ms Gaffka on the same year and was considered divisive among viewers after she called herself the ‘queen on the villa’.

But despite the outrage on social media, the 26-year-old financial services marketing executive finished in second place at the final.

Emma Jane Woodham entered the show as a contestant during series two and lasted two weeks.

The then 19-year-old trainee project manager from Oxford shocked viewers when she and fellow contestant Terry Walsh were caught in the act by the villa cameras.

Ofcom received complaints about the scenes, which showed full-frontal sex scenes on top of the bed.

Since then, Ms Woodham has been working as an Instagram influencer and model and is also mum to six-year-old Alfie.
