A free law clinic has supported more than 100 people in just three months.

Solent Law Clinic, based at Southampton Solent University, reached the milestone after opening in February 2025.

Marco Mongiello, interim head of business and law, said: "We are proud that, in just three months, we have provided support to 100 members of the community through free legal advice.

"This service is only possible thanks to our dedicated partners at Dutton Gregory, as well as Solent's course leader for law, Brad Kershaw."

The clinic offers free legal advice on housing and family law and is staffed by law students under the supervision of legal professionals.

It operates every Tuesday and Friday from 3pm to 7pm at the university’s East Park Terrace campus.

More than 70 per cent of clients have seen their cases concluded through the service.

The clinic is a partnership between Solent University and law firm Dutton Gregory.
