New Forest District Council has issued advice and clarification ahead of its new waste service launch.
The council's latest service will see food waste taken every week, with glass collections happening once a month and recycling and rubbish alternating.
Ahead of the service being rolled out in phases starting from this month, the authority warned that there will be changes to collection days and issued further advice.
The council said that wheelie bins can be stored outdoors and do not necessarily need to be placed in a bin store.

However, if residents wish to 'screen them from view', a store can be built or purchased.
New Forest District Council advised against storing bins on roads, pavements, or other public land, urging residents to keep them on their own property.
While most sites will not be required to seek planning permission for a purpose-built bin store, the council has suggested checking with its planning team using a free 15-minute planning service accessible on its website.
For those living in the National Park, inquiries should be directed to the New Forest National Park Authority.
