Visitors to Beaulieu this July will be transported to the 17th century.

On July 12 and 13, the Marquess of Winchester's Regiment will recreate the thrilling events of the Civil War era.

The 'A Royal Hunt' weekend will feature live demonstrations and interactive displays as the New Model Army hunts for King Charles through the New Forest.

Visitors can expect an authentic experience with musket and cannon fire, officer dinners, and live drum jams that bring the Civil War era to life.

Organisers have drawn inspiration from the classic novel, 'The Children of the New Forest', set during the English Civil War.

Visitors might recognise scenes and details from the book in the event's displays.

Tickets for the history re-enactment weekend are available on the Beaulieu website and include entry to the entire Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum, Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey, and more.

The weekend promises an engaging and educational trip back in time.
