June has lived in Berehill House, a care home in Whitchurch, for the last three years and has become a "huge character" in this time.

Despite suffering from dementia and not being able to communicate as well as she used to, June still loves a laugh and enjoys the company of others.

A spokesperson for Berehill House said: "June is one of the bright lights here at Berehill, she prefers her middle name, "June," it’s a fitting choice — cheerful, warm, and full of life.

"Not much is known about where June originally comes from, as her family ties are few, but she grew up surrounded by love with two sisters, both of whom went on to have families of their own. June chose a different path.

"She never married or had children, but she dedicated her life to caring for others in one of the most meaningful ways — as a midwife.

"Her work brought countless new lives into the world and no doubt touched many hearts along the way.

"June has been part of the Berehill family for nearly three years, and she’s become a huge character in our community.

"She loves to share a laugh, enjoys good company, and always seems to bring joy wherever she goes.

"Though dementia has made communication difficult for her, her spirit still shines through.

"We may not know her secret to a long life, but it’s clear that kindness, laughter, and a life spent caring for others have been a beautiful part of her journey."
