Hampshire County Council is seeking parent's views on proposed changes to school catchment areas in Fareham.

This consultation affects The Henry Cort Community College, Brookfield Community School, Sarisbury Infant School, Sarisbury CE Junior School, and Whiteley Primary School.

The consultation is open until June 30 and follows the decision to relocate The Henry Cort Community College to North Whiteley from September 2027.

This relocation is linked to the forthcoming construction of a housing development opposite Cornerstone CE Primary School.

The catchment change proposals have been developed alongside the headteachers of Fareham Academy, Cams Hill School, and Cornerstone CE Primary School, all of whom manage their own admissions.

Heads of The Henry Cort Community College, Brookfield Community School, Whiteley Primary School, Orchard Lea Junior School, St Columba CE Primary School, Titchfield Primary School, Sarisbury Infant School, and Sarisbury CE Junior School have also been involved in the planning.

The proposed changes aim to create a consistent, shared catchment area for Cornerstone CE Primary School and Whiteley Primary School.

Once relocated, The Henry Cort Community College will have a catchment area covering the Whiteley area for secondary-aged pupils.

Cams Hill School, Fareham Academy, and Cornerstone CE Primary School will hold their own consultations as they manage their own admissions.

If the proposals are approved, housing and land will be removed from the catchment areas of The Henry Cort Community College, Brookfield Community School, Sarisbury Infant School, and Sarisbury CE Junior School from September 2027.

The area opposite Cornerstone CE Primary will be included in the catchment area of Whiteley Primary School.

For families in the affected areas with children already attending The Henry Cort Community College, Brookfield Community School, Sarisbury Infant School, and Sarisbury CE Junior School, transitional arrangements will be made.

These include catchment sibling priority for out-catchment children starting school for the first time, under certain conditions, up to and including admission in September 2030.

Hampshire County Council has proposed redrawing the catchment boundaries for school admissions from September 2027 onwards.

This consultation is an opportunity for parents, guardians, and the public to have their say on the proposed changes.

Responses can be submitted online via the Hampshire County Council website.
