THE ROMSEY Ramblers have worked to improve access to the countryside with the completion of several projects.
The group has installed two pedestrian gates at Braishfield (funded by Braishfield Parish Council); a kissing gate at Wellow; vegetation clearances at Romsey and Carter’s Clay; improvement to waymarking at East Tytherley, and the removal of two redundant stiles at Lockerley.
With the improvements now in place, the group hopes that it will be easier for members of the public to access the local footpath network.

Romsey Ramblers work closely with the county council's Countryside Access team to ensure the work they do is appropriate and with landowners’ approval.
The group has further work planned for June, including another gate installation plus a replacement bridge, both within East Dean Parish.
Some of the projects are completed solely by the Romsey Ramblers’ Maintenance Team, while others are completed in combination with HCC staff and their volunteers.
