A road closure is set to last more than a month.
Upper Yardley Road, Hedge End, started on May 27 and will end on June 30.
The closure, which affects the stretch between Bursledon Road and Home Farm Close, is to allow FPF Utilities to carry out gas replacement works.
The order will remain in place for six months, but the works are expected to be completed within the specified timeframe.
The closure will be in operation 24 hours a day.
An alternative route has been put in place via Bursledon Road, Freegrounds Avenue, and Upper Yardley Road.
Anyone with queries about the order can contact Ashley Edwards at FPF Utilities via ashleyedwards@fpfutilities.com.
