An unauthorised encampment has appeared on playing fields near a primary school.
Travellers pitched up at Mount Pleasant Playing Fields on Tuesday night, with reports of “around 50 caravans” seen entering the site.
Following their arrival, a statement was issued by Hamble Parish Council.
A spokesperson said police were called to the scene and the council was working alongside officers.
They said: “We are aware that an unauthorised encampment has been set up at Mount Pleasant.
"Police are currently on site, and we are working closely with them to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
“We understand the community will have concerns and will provide further updates as soon as we can.
“Thank you for your patience.”

The arrival of the travellers came only hours after an encampment of a similar size was moved on from Itchen Valley Country Park.
The facilities, including the toilets and café, at the popular park in West End will reopen at 11am today after being closed yesterday.
Police officers were called to the scene, while the team at Itchen Valley Country Park “issued a request that the encampment leaves the park”.
It is yet to be confirmed if it is the same group of travellers now in Hamble.
