A mum has made a re-enactment of the horrifying moment a gate chopped part of her son’s finger off.
Tommy Warley, three, lost more than half of his middle finger after it was sliced off last week.
The youngster was opening the gate to the green space in Conduct Gardens, Eastleigh, when it swung backwards, trapping his finger in the process.

His mother Rose-Marie Warley returned to the scene to film a re-enactment using a carrot.
The video shows her holding the small carrot between the gate and the post, which was wrapped in red and white tape.

As the gate moves towards the fence, it snaps a chunk of the carrot off, leaving it wedged between the gate and post.
This is what happened to Tommy's finger, she said.
The gate is the responsibility of Eastleigh Borough Council who said they “understand this must be very upsetting for the family.”
But Rose-Marie wants the council to take action.
“I want the council to change the gates, and when they will do that, I don’t know”, she said.
“It is a guillotine, and the gate should have a stopping mechanism or a slow closure in place.”
The council has launched an investigation into the incident.
