A teenage boy has been arrested after a machete was allegedly used to threaten a man. 

At around 2.45pm on Saturday, Hampshire police received reports that a man had threatened another man with a machete on Monks Way in Swaythling.

The identity of the man that was threatened remains unknown.

A 15-year-old from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He has been released under investigation.
