All lanes have been closed on the M3 after a lorry crashed into the central reservation, Hampshire police confirmed.
Drivers on the motorway have been forced to funnel into one lane and exit the northbound carriageway at Junction 12 at Eastleigh, causing chaos just ahead of where the crash has closed the road.
The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital as emergency services continue to attend the scene.
Traffic was temporarily held stationary this morning heading north on the M3 from Junction 13 A335 Leigh Road to Junction 12.

Cars are now moving again but a temporary speed limit of 20mph has been in place as they are forced to divert off of the M3 onto the A335.
The crash has also caused queues on the M27 as traffic backs up off the slip road towards the M3.
A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "We are currently dealing with an incident on the M3, after a lorry collided with the central reservation at about 7.08am.
"The driver has been taken to hospital.
"The northbound carriageway is currently closed between junctions 12 and 13 so please avoid the area if you can.
"Thank you for your patience, we will update you as soon as we can."
