A hair salon is offering free haircuts to people in need.

Room8 Hair and Beauty, in partnership with Waypoint Hub, has been providing free haircuts every first Saturday of the month since March.

The initiative is aimed at helping individuals and families who cannot afford basic services like haircuts due to the rising cost of living.

Jade Wang, owner of Room8 Hair and Beauty, said: "It’s a joy to offer this pampering opportunity to our community.

"The smiles, the visible boost in confidence—it’s a reminder of the power a simple haircut can have."

The idea was born out of Jade's desire to give back in a practical way.

She decided to dedicate one stylist's schedule to free appointments, booked through local charities, on the first Saturday of each month.

The stylist is paid as normal, with the salon covering the cost.

Jade said: "It’s a real commitment from our business, but one we are proud to make.

"Everyone deserves a moment to feel good about themselves."

She hopes this initiative will inspire other salons to participate in their own way.

"Even if each salon in the area could offer just three free haircuts per month, together we could make a huge impact," she added.
