Hampshire police have explained the cause behind the delays.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "A collision involving four cars near junction 13 was reported at 8.17am. Minor injuries were sustained."
The #M3 westbound between J12 (Chandler's Ford) and J13 (Eastleigh), lanes 2 and 3 (of 3) are closed due to a collision.

National Highways has warned: "There are currently delays of one and a half hours against expected traffic."
AA Traffic News is reporting: "Queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to crash on M3 Southbound from J12 A335 (Eastleigh) to J13 A335 Leigh Road (Chandlers Ford).
"Congestion to past J11 (Winchester South)."

According to National Highways, two lanes have been closed to the M3.
It is understood that a crash has taken place on the southbound lane of the motorway.
