A cricket club has secured a sponsorship deal to help with the cost of equipment and kit for the next three years.

NSSLGlobal has announced that it will be sponsoring Locks Heath Cricket Club.

This will see £9,000 of funding provided to the club.

The sponsorship will help cover the cost of kits and equipment for the 190 youth members.

Sally-Anne Ray, NSSLGlobal group CEO, said: "At NSSLGlobal we always want to support impressive community-based sporting activities, which is why we are proud to be a sponsor of Locks Heath Cricket Club.

"This is a successful club that offers important opportunities for scores of youngsters, some of whom come from military families.

"With such a long track record of working with the MOD and the Armed Forces, and our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, we’re proud to provide financial support to Locks Heath."

Kerry Meredith, Locks Heath junior coordinator, added: "We’re so very grateful to NSSLGlobal for their generous support of our youth teams.

"This money will make a significant difference to the costs of running a busy community club like Locks Heath."

Locks Heath Cricket Club has a number of youth age groups teams from under-9s to under-17s, as well as a mini team with 35 members.

More than 190 children take part in the activities at the club.

Winter training sessions and leagues are also put on at the club, as well as four men's teams and a women's team.

Cricket sessions are also held at the club during weekday evenings in the summer months.

Kerry said: "We work hard to create a safe space where children of all ages can be physically active, learn to excel, and develop important core skills that benefit them throughout their adult lives.

"The NSSLGlobal sponsorship will make a huge difference, helping fund kit, equipment, and so much more."

Sally-Anne said that the company looks forward to "following the club as the new season starts".
