Southampton is set to be battered by rain over the next week after the driest spring on record – but when will the hot weather return to the city?
The next week, including the bank holiday weekend, is set to see rain battered the city after an unprecedented period of hot and dry weather through April and May.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “A much more unsettled period than of late with the whole of the UK likely to see showers or some longer spells of rain, but also some drier and brighter interludes.
“For Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday it's likely a story of sunshine and showers.”
