A fine dining restaurant on a university campus has received a prestigious accolade.
The Blue Room, at the University of Southampton's Highfield Campus, is the first UK university restaurant to be awarded two AA Restaurant Rosettes.
The Blue Room serves a sustainable menu, using locally sourced produce, including fresh herbs, vegetables, and fruit from the campus kitchen garden.
Senior sous chef, Lewis Huggins, said: "We are all thrilled to have received two AA rosettes – it’s a real honour for the team.
"We really pride ourselves on creating food that uses local produce so to be recognised alongside some of the UK’s most respected restaurants is a great reflection of the skill, creativity and professionalism of our team.
"We hope more people from across Southampton - and beyond - will come and dine with us in future."
The Blue Room is open for lunch from 12pm to 2pm, Monday to Friday, with later bookings available on request.
