An energy network company has urged families to support loved ones this Dementia Action Week.
SGN, which operates the gas network in southern England, wants families and carers of those living with dementia to explore the support they can access to help loved ones live safely and independently for longer.
The company has highlighted the importance of signing up to the Priority Service Register, fitting a locking cooker valve, and seeking support through partnerships with organisations including the Dementia Support in the Isle of Wight and Hampshire.

"Living with dementia, and caring for someone with dementia, can be extremely tough, and we want to alleviate some of these pressures."

Dementia Action Week runs from May 19 to May 25.
