A four-day road closure is planned for gas works.
Pikes Hill, Lyndhurst, will be closed from May 27 as part of work to disconnect a gas service.
The closure affects the section between the junction with Broughton Road and a point approximately 250 metres north-west.
Although the closure is in place for four days, the legal order allows for the road to remain closed for up to six months if necessary.
The closure will be in operation 24 hours a day.
An alternative route is available via Stable Hill, Emery Down, Swan Green, A35, and A337.
SGN, the company carrying out the work, has stated that reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises.
Notice will be given to those directly affected by the works.
