The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:

CRAIG MINTRAM, 44, of Weston Lane, Southampton, admitted to possession of an imitation firearm, namely a BB gun, in public on Weston Lane. He was given a community order of two years and must complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity. Must also complete 150 hours of unpaid work, and the BB gun is to be forfeited and destroyed. To pay court costs of £40 and a surcharge of £114.

DAMIAN MARTIN, 48, of Millbrook Road West, Southampton, admitted to two counts of theft from a shop, including two women's jackets worth £230 from Next in Westquay on January 11, 2024, and £35.34 of food items from a Co-op in Hedge End on December 1, 2023. Also admitted to fraud by using a stolen bank card on Queensway on January 22, 2024. Given an absolute discharge as he is already serving a lengthy prison sentence, and "with the strong mitigation [magistrates] felt absolute discharge is the fair and just sentence to be imposed", court documents revealed.

BETSY-JADE KING, 28, of Old Lane Heswell, Wirral, pleaded guilty to 26 counts of theft from shops, including in Blackfield, Hythe and Southampton between August 6, 2023, and January 14, 2025. This includes Tesco, One Stop, Sainsbury's and Aldi. Also admitted to assault by beating on July 12, 2024, in Southampton. She has been given an 18-month community order and must complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity. Must pay £100 in compensation to the victim of the assault by beating.

LEVAN BUKHAIDZE, 32, of Meyrick Road, Bournemouth, admitted to theft of 16 packs of razor blades and three scientific calculators valued at £427.50 from a Sainsbury's in Hedge End, Southampton on November 22, 2024. Fined £120. Must pay £35 in court case and a surcharge of £48.

MATTHEW DAVIS, 33, of Brisbane Road, Christchurch, admitted to failing to provide a sample for breath analysis after driving a vehicle on February 28, 2025, on Southern Road, Southampton. Disqualified from driving for 17 months with a potential reduction period of 17 weeks pending completion of a course. Fined £120 and must pay £85 in court costs and a £48 surcharge.
