The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:

PETER IVANCIK, 39, of Maplin Road, Southampton, admitted to two charges of failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis, having driven a vehicle, on December 28, 2024 on Bournemouth Road, Southampton and again on February 12 in Southampton. Also admitted to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress as at Southampton General Hospital on December 29, 2024. Also admitted to two counts of assault by beating of a police officer on December 28, 2024, in Southampton, and driving without due care and attention on the A35 and Bournemouth Road on the same date. He was given a one-year community order including 25 days of rehabilitation activity. He has been disqualified from driving for 17 months with a potential reduction period of 17 weeks pending completion of a course. Must also pay £50 in compensation to both police officers.

JOSHUA WATERS, 23, of Greenacres Mobile Park, Semington, Trowbridge, admitted to failing to provide a specimen for analysis on Southern Road, Southampton on March 10, 2025. Also admitted to possession of cannabis on the same date on Windermere Avenue, Southampton. Disqualified from driving for 17 months and 21 days and jailed for six weeks. Cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed. Must pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £154.

DYLAN DAVID, 27, of no fixed address, Southampton, admitted to 17 counts of theft from a shop in Southampton between March 21 and April 27, 2025, from shops including One Stop, Marks and Spencer’s, Sainsburys and Morrisons. He was jailed for 18 weeks.

DENNIS JAMES, 56, of Marryat Road, New Milton, admitted to failing to co-operate with a roadside drug wipe and failure to provide a sample for analysis after driving in Southampton on May 19, 2024. He was given a community order of one year, in which he must attend 15 rehabilitation requirement days. Disqualified from driving for 39 months. Fined £85. Must pay a surcharge of £114.
