Suella Braverman has hailed a funding boost for a hospice.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board announced that Rowans Hospice are set to receive an additional £1.4m in funding.
The boost means the hospice will take in more than £2.2 million a year which is more than double what they previously received.
For over 30 years, Rowans Hospice has helped countless Hampshire families by providing emotional and physical care.
However, due to low public funding, the vital service has long relied on generous donations from the public and maintained a limited staff due to the financial strain.
Ms Braverman, MP for Fareham and Waterlooville, said: "This is a huge win for our community and a cause that is very close to my heart.
"I have been fighting hard for increased support for Rowans Hospice, raising the issue at every level and in Parliament.
"I’m thrilled that the ICB has responded to our calls.
"Rowans has provided exceptional care to countless families over the three decades.
"It’s a foundation of our community and I’m proud to have played a role in ensuring it receives the support it deserves."
Iain Cameron, CEO of Rowans Hospice, said: "We are so grateful of their support.
"Whereas this increase is welcome and recognises the part we play in the local system, it is important to stress that we still rely heavily on the generous community of Southeast Hampshire to provide the remaining 78 per cent funding that we require to deliver our vital services to those who need us most."
He also expressed his appreciation towards Suella Braverman for her "personal and proactive" support towards the hospice, having "championed the needs of the Hospice".
Mr Cameron said the boost marks a "critical step" in securing the future of Rowans Hospice.
