A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving among other charges after a three-car crash on a busy stretch of road in Southampton.
Several police cars brandished their blue lights to close Kingsway just after 7.30pm last night.
A Ford Focus collided with a Mercedes and a Dacia Solver, but when officers arrived, the driver of the Focus had left the scene.
Later on, a 29-year-old man from Enfield was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, driving without insurance, driving without due care and attention, and failing to stop at an accident.

He remains in custody at this time.
A 22-year-old man, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Echo that the road closure "stretched well past the accident" going just before the turning to South Front.
"I was in a taxi heading out of the city on Kingsway and I saw a police car with lights on and a blue sign that said to slow down because police were there," he said.
"Police were on foot directing cars away but it didn't get too busy. I didn't see any of the vehicles from the crash but if it happened earlier in the day I'm sure it would have caused some traffic."
