The Ringwood Carnival saw hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators brave the rain for the traditional parade.
Despite the weather, the carnival spirit was strong on September 18, 2004.
Carnival queen Samantha Elvy reigned over the colourful procession, which featured floats and fancy dress entries.
The Ringwood Junior School won the best overall entry for their Olympic Games-themed float, while the Ringwood Infant school’s aerial-inspired tableau was also recognised.
Other notable entries included a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed float by the Ringwood and Fordingbridge Judo Club and a Wacky Races recreation by Jim Soloman.
There was a moment of real drama when emergency services were called to a fire at a local almshouse.
