A councillor has said the scrapping of a bus gate trial is a "victory for common sense."
Southampton City Council announced on Wednesday, May 14, that the Portswood bus gate trial would be scrapped after three months.
The trial was introduced to reduce bus times and pollution in the area.
The bus gate was located on Portswood Road between the junctions of Highfield Lane and Brookvale Road.

Commenting on the decision, Southampton Liberal Democrats councillor Thomas Gravatt said: "The last three months have been disruptive to Portswood residents and businesses - and we know they will be glad to see normality return.
"It was clear from the start that the scheme was poorly thought through and once implemented it was actually worse than predicted.
"We will keep pushing the Labour-run council to actually listen to residents regarding changes to our city - rather than forcing through their plans without public support.
"The trial being scrapped is a victory for common sense."
