Large black bin bags have been dumped at a New Forest beauty spot in the latest incident of flytipping.

Forestry England and local police have been undergoing joint efforts to combat fly-tipping in the New Forest.

These targeted patrols have focused on fly-tipping hotspots, including Deerleap car park, where the bin bags were found last week.

Forestry England cleaned up the rubbish, which they say cost them hundreds of pounds.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "If you ever see anyone dumping rubbish, let us know, especially if you have information that can help us catch them.

"FE also help us with our car park and campsite patrols, where we target those areas where vehicles are broken into and expensive bicycles are stolen."

Forestry England is also reminding people about the ban on open fires and BBQs in the Forest – adding that the wildfire in Bransgore last week explains why the ban is in place.
