Tributes have poured in for a “beloved” pensioner who died in a crash.

Maria Pickard died after the crash, on Grange Road in Gosport shortly before 11.30am on May 5.

It involved one vehicle, a grey Kia Picanto.

Despite efforts from members of the public and paramedics, Maria Pickard was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ms Pickard, 87, was driving a Kia at the time of the collision and no other vehicles were involved.

Now, her family have paid a heartfelt tribute to her.

"Maria was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence brought warmth, and her kindness touched the lives of many.

"Her sudden loss leaves an immeasurable void in our hearts. While we feel deep sadness of her sudden loss, we also remember the joy she brought into our lives.

"We would like to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to members of the public, the police and medical professionals who did their best to help her."

Reacting to the news, one person commented on social media: "We can't imagine the immeasurable loss your family are feeling, we wish you peace and condolences at this incredibly sad time."

Another added: "Oh Mrs Pickard, thinking of all your family and friends during this tough time."

A third added: "May she rest in peace, condolences to all her family and friends."
