Big Mouth Theatre named family business of the year

Big Mouth Theatre, which has centres in Totton, Eastleigh, and Fareham, was recognised at this year's Club Hub Awards.

The awards celebrate the best in the UK's children's activity sector.

The company was founded in 2013 by husband and wife team Holly Clarkson and Adrian Woolner.

The company was recognised for its "commitment to nurturing young people through the power of drama."

The company was set up to support children's wellbeing through "inclusive, non-competitive drama clubs."

The family-run business welcomes more than 300 young people every week.

It runs weekend programmes, after-school clubs, and holiday drama camps.

Adrian and Holly said: "We’re incredibly proud of what Big Mouth has achieved over the past 12 years.

"As we celebrate 10 years of marriage this year, it’s humbling to reflect on how far our shared vision has come.

"We’ve built a business rooted in trust, connection, and a deep belief in children’s potential.

"Looking ahead, we’re excited to grow beyond Hampshire and help as many children as possible believe in themselves and their abilities through drama.

"We’re so grateful to our customers, coaches, and Club Hub for their support and this incredible recognition."

The Club Hub Awards are the only national awards for children’s activity providers that require a detailed application, with no public voting.

A panel of independent expert judges selects winners based on excellence, innovation, growth, and passion for delivering meaningful experiences to children and families.

This year’s awards saw 75 finalists shortlisted from 340 applications, representing 196 Club Hub member businesses.

The winners were announced at the Club Hub Event on May 10, at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham and streamed on Grow Radio.
