A farm is seeking permanent planning permission for a dog training school.

The school, located on a field at Lower Grove Farm, Upper Northam Drive, has been operating under temporary permission and now seeks a permanent conversion of the field from agricultural to commercial use.

The school operates approximately 20 hours per week for seven months of the year, and closes in winter due to wet conditions.

Access to the field is from Upper Northam Drive, and the school has a five-mile-per-hour speed limit enforced by staff.

Dogs are kept on leads until inside a secure enclosure.

The field is surrounded by trees and agricultural land, minimising noise impact.

The planning application states no new structures will be built, and the only addition is a small tent for dog training equipment.

The site is equipped with parking for clients, toilet facilities connected to a farm cesspit, and a waste removal contract.

The consultation period ends on May 31 and a decision is set to be made by Eastleigh Borough Council on July 4.
