A cruise ship that regularly docks in Southampton has been given a perfect score after a hygiene inspection by the CDC.
Regent Cruise’s Seven Seas Grandeur has been given a 100-hygiene rating by the CDC after an inspection – the top marks that can be received.
But the CDC inspectors still highlighted a number of areas for improvement.
These included storing gravlax above ready-to-eat, fully cooked mackerel, smoked trout, and seared tuna, which was rectified by moving the gravlax to the bottom of the storage rack.

Inspectors recommended protecting food from cross-contamination.
In another instance, white food debris was found on the food-contact surface of a previously cleaned and sanitised bowl in the clean storage cabinet, which was then sent to be rewashed.
The Grandeur will make a number of appearances in Southampton this summer, with it next scheduled to stop in the Southampton on June 11.
