A Fareham racing driver has secured his second podium of the season.

Paul Fullick, who races for Team BRIT, competed in round two of the Britcar Endurance Championship at Silverstone on May 3.

Team BRIT is the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers.

Paul, who had part of his leg amputated following a motorbike accident, pairs up with Aaron Morgan from Basingstoke, driving a McLaren 570S GT4.

Paul and Aaron use the team’s hand control technology to enable the pair to compete on equal terms with able-bodied drivers.

The drivers took on qualifying in the morning and secured P4 in class ahead of the 90-minute race, which was shared between the two.

Aaron began the race for the pair, taking on various battles on track and handing over to Paul in P3, which he was able to hold for the second half of the race, securing their podium finish, and bringing home more valuable championship points.

Paul said: "For me, Saturday’s race was about getting back into the groove after an accident at the track in the last round.

"Aaron qualified P4 and started the race for us. He drove an amazing race and got us into P3.

"I took over at the halfway point and had a difficult race, but the lead Aaron built up meant I was able to at least hold the position, even though I felt I could have been quicker.

"The weekend also saw us welcome visitors from a charity that trains guide dogs for the Deaf and some great young people from Bedford College who really made the garage come alive for the day.

"Overall, it was a great weekend, we secured some more championship points and can’t wait to go again at the end of the month."

Paul races again at Snetterton on May 31.
