A cruise ship that regularly docks in Southampton has been given a perfect hygiene score by the CDC.
The rating gives Oceania Vista the accolade of being one of the top-rated cruise ships in the city with regards to hygiene and cleanliness.
But the CDC did note a number of improvements that could still be made – despite awarding the ship a 100-hygiene score.

During their inspection of the he newest ship in the Oceania Cruises fleet, the CDC inspectors found a container of uncovered edible green leaves, which was immediately discarded, and a previously cleaned and sanitised plate found to be soiled with small black debris.
The report also praised crew members at the buffet entrance who were encouraging guests to either wash their hands or sanitise them.
The inspector added: "It is important that handwashing be the primary method for reducing the spread of diseases onboard.”
