A Fareham-based bubble performer has joined in the celebration of International Bubble Blowing Day.

Damian Jay, known for his award-winning show Believe-A-Bubble, took part in the May 6 event, which aims to highlight the emotional benefits of simple pleasures like blowing bubbles.

This year's theme, 'Multum in Parvo', translates to 'Much from Little'.

Damian said: "Soap bubbles are truly amazing. They entertain, they enchant, and they soothe the mind.

The event serves as a reminder of the positive impact that small, everyday moments can have on our well-being.

Bubble performers from around the world participated in a special video project organised by the Association of International Bubble Artistes (AOIBA), the only worldwide organisation for professional bubble artists.

Each performer was asked to show how many bubbles could be made from a single source, celebrating creativity, mindfulness, and the universal delight bubbles inspire.

Damian said: "With mental health challenges on the rise, we need simple tools that help us slow down and smile.

"Blowing bubbles is a simple way for us to slow down and enjoy moments of calmness.

"Go on, go get some bubbles and try it for yourself."

The act of blowing bubbles is seen as a simple, mindful break in fast-paced and often overwhelming times.

Watching them float and shimmer encourages people to slow down, breathe, and stay in the moment, offering an accessible way to support mental well-being.

International Bubble Blowing Day serves as a reminder that even the simplest things can have a profound impact, and that happiness can often be found in the smallest of gestures.

Known for his multi-award-winning family show Believe-A-Bubble and for performing at many outdoor events as The Bubbleer, Damian blends entertainment, science, and wonder to bring the joy of soap bubbles to audiences across the UK and beyond.

He is also a founding member of the Association of International Bubble Artistes (AOIBA).
