A Southampton man has been left in a “life-threatening condition” after being injured while getting out of a flatbed van.

The man, in his 30s and a passenger at the time of the incident, was seriously injured after reportedly exiting a white Ford Transit flatbed as it travelled on Long Lane between Blackfield and Holbury on Thursday evening.

He currently remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

The incident is believed to have taken place at 9.39pm on Thursday, with police appealing to the public for more information.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident.

“Were you traveling along Long Lane, in either direction? Do you recall seeing a white Ford Transit (flatbed) which was transporting a motorbike? Did you see the incident itself, or do you have any dash cam footage which could assist us in our enquiries?
