A newly landscaped memory garden has opened to the public.

The Stubbington Ark's Memory Garden opened to the public on Friday, offering a tranquil spot to commemorate loved ones and celebrate special occasions.

The garden features freshly planted flowers, a water feature, and a plaque wall.

Visitors will also notice pebbles with the names of rescue animals who have passed away.

The Mayor of Fareham, Pal Hayre, officially opened the garden on Thursday while the Ark's patron, Saints legend Franny Benali, also attended to offer his support.

A spokesperson for RSPCA Solent said: "Not only is the garden a great place to come and remember loved ones and pets, but all money raised from plaque sales goes directly back into helping the rescue animals in our care.

"As an independent Branch of the RSPCA, we are completely self-funded, meaning we have to raise all our own funds to keep our animal centre, The Stubbington Ark, up and running."

Plaques for the garden wall are available for purchase at £20 for text only or £25 for text with a small clip art image.

These can be ordered by emailing markwhite@rspcasolent.org.uk.

The garden will be open daily from 11am to 4pm, except Tuesdays when the centre is closed.

All proceeds from plaque sales will go towards supporting the RSPCA Solent's animal rescue efforts.
