Funds are being raised for two Southampton boys who suddenly lost their mother to sepsis the same day she went into hospital.
Mother of two, Lauren Claffey, died from sepsis just hours after walking into hospital just a week before her 40th birthday.
The beloved mum left behind two sons – 15-year-old Beau and 6-year-old Xander and family members said the boys ‘have had their worlds ripped apart’.
Lauren’s family are now appealing to the public to help the two Southampton boys that have been left heartbroken without their mother.
Beau, Lauren and Xander (Image: Submitted) Corinne Williams, 37, Lauren’s cousin, said: “Lauren had suffered from sepsis before and had been fine.
“She put off going to hospital and said she felt okay with pain killers – on Friday, March 28, she checked herself into the hospital and by 10:30pm we found out she had died.
“Its been like a nightmare that you can’t wake up from – one minute we were making plans for her 40th birthday and the next she was gone.
“Now her two boys have been left without their her. It’s just devastating.”

Family members said that Lauren will be remembered for her nurturing and maternal nature – someone who would always listen and try and help, no matter how small the issue.

She was well known for having a fun and cheeky personality as well as being an outstanding chef in the kitchen.
Beau, 15, and Lauren (Image: Submitted) Corinne continued: “Nobody cooked like Lauren did – her roast dinners were the absolute best.
“She was a powerhouse of a mother and the glue that stuck our family together. We will always miss her singing and her great impressions which never failed to make the whole family laugh.”
The family are now asking Southampton residents to help give Beau and Xander the best possible start in life by donating money that will be used for the boy’s future and education as well as give them some lasting trips and memories.
Corinne added: “No donation is too small - Thank you for helping us honour Lauren’s legacy by holding her boys close in love.”
