A motorbike rider has suffered minor injuries after another crash at a junction that is often branded 'dangerous'

Just after 9am on Thursday, May 1, Hampshire Police received reports that a car and a motorbike had crashed on the A33, at its junction with the B3047.

Emergency services closed the road, forcing traffic heading towards Winchester along the B3047.

A police spokesperson said: "The motorbike rider sustained minor injuries."

By 11am, the drivers reported that the road had reopened and cleared.

The junction, which is jointly managed by Hampshire County Council and National Highways, has been branded 'dangerous' by residents and councillors, who have been calling for improvements for years.

Last year, traffic engineers installed various safety improvements at the junction.

This included changing ‘give way’ signs to ‘stop signs’ on the B3047, and the installation of an electronic speed indicator device on the southbound A33 approach.

Over 200 people attended engagement events on the proposals, and almost 900 people responded to the council's online survey.
