A NEW house could be built near an organic garden shop if given the green light by the council.

A permission in principle application to see if a three-bedroom residential property can be built at Harroway Organic Gardens, Kingsclere Road, Whitchurch, has been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (BDBC).

A planning statement from Mathewson Waters Architects revealed the land is part of the garden belonging to the business owners' bungalow.

This plot, about 0.11 hectares, is near the farm shop and is surrounded by hedgerows and trees.

The proposed house would share the current access route and parking area of the organic farm shop on Kingsclere Road.

The design aims to blend with the existing bungalow and shop, bordered by mature trees.

The proposed house would have a simple tiled roof with dormer windows.

It would be built from brick, with clay roof tiles, and the windows would be flush casement.

The entrance doors would be painted timber.

The plans also include parking space for three vehicles in the existing areas.

The new property would have private gardens to the side and rear.

These plans have been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for permission in principle.

If approved, the new house will join the existing structures within the organic garden's landscape.
