A motorcyclist, a man in his 70s, has been taken to Southampton Hospital with serious injuries following the crash.
Police were called to the crash, between a white BMW motorcycle and a white Citreon van, at 10.27am today near Shelley Lane.
As part of the investigation, police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area or witnessed the collision, the moments leading up to it, or the aftermath.

The A36 has been closed in both directions following a crash this morning from Ower Roundabout to Roundabout in junction with Canada Road.
