The latest court cases in Oxford Magistrates' Court:
PASCHAL MEJEH, 46, of Bunbury Street, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Zafira without a driving licence and without third party insurance at the services on junction 10 of the M40 on December 11 last year. Mejeh must pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £96 and a fine of £240. Mejeh also got eight penalty points.
THOMAS DUKES, 24, of Enstone Road, Middle Barton, pleaded guilty to drug driving in a VW Scirocco in Main Road, Broughton, on October 1 last year. He must pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £57 and a fine of £143. Dukes was also banned from the road for 28 days.
JASON STURMAN, 32, of Towcester Road, Old Stratford, Milton Keynes, pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving in a Renault Clio on the A4421 Buckingham Road, Bicester, on December 27 last year. He also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and without third party insurance on the same occasion. Also to obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty. Sturman was handed a community order and must complete 150 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. His driving licence was also endorsed with eight points and he must pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £114 and a fine of £240.
STEFFAN WOOD, 37, of Long Ford Close, Oxford, pleaded guilty to stealing meat and other items to the value of £700.99 from Sainsbury's in Swindon on February 1 this year. Wood also pleaded guilty to using threatening / abusive words / behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Swindon on January 2 this year. He was handed a community order and must complete drug rehabilitation for nine months and a rehabilitation activity for 26 days. He must also pay costs of £85 and comply with the orders of the responsible officer to attend appointments for a maximum of 15 days.
SAMUEL MASTERSON, 28, of Cherwell Road, Berinsfield, Wallingford, pleaded guilty to drug driving in a white Vauxhall Astra on Ambassador Avenue, Oxford, on November 23 last year. He must pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £184 and a fine of £461. He was also banned from the road for 12 months.
LOUISE DOUGLAS-GILBERT, 36, of Stocks Lane, Carterton, was found guilty of one count of harassment without violence, committed in Oxford between October 21 2023 and January 21 2024. She must pay costs of £500 and a victim surcharge of £114. She was also ordered to not enter Oxford Castle Quarter until October 10 this year and to not contact the victim until April 10 next year.
ISMAEEL SHAN, 24, of Temple Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to drug driving in a Mercedes CLA at Sainsburys Petrol Station, Heyford Hill, Oxford, on December 23 last year. Shan must pay costs of £50, a victim surcharge of £48 and a fine of £120. Shan was also banned from the road for 12 months.
ANDREW SILVER, 42, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from shops in Witney committed between February 24 and March 20 this year. The total value of the items stolen was £911.30. Silver was jailed for four months.
ANTHONY MARTIN, 45, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Henley on April 10 last year. He also pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a community protection notice in that he stood in the road whilst intoxicated and was swearing at members of the public. He was given a conditional discharge of six months.
NICOLE SMITH, 44, of Old Witney Road, Eynsham, pleaded guilty to six counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, with the offences committed in Oxford and Abingdon in November last year. Smith was handed a community order and must complete 12 months of alcohol rehabilitation and six months of mental health rehabilitation. She must also pay a total of £210.
