It's the historic pub owned by two friends with portraits of regulars dressed as seafaring smugglers adorning the walls.
At the heart of the community since 1750 and once favoured by smugglers, The Thomas Tripp in Christchurch has been brought bang up to date with the addition of an Airbnb let in the loft.
Co-owners Dave Burns and Jason Giddings have always put an emphasis on community action, working with several local charities and community projects.

When thinking about what was next for the pub, the friends saw the opportunity to turn their empty kitchen unit upstairs into a new offering for overnight guests, encouraging more travellers to explore local attractions in Hampshire and Dorset.
The loft has now been transformed into a classy private space for relaxation and slumber. The getaway lets guests dive into the South Coast's sea heritage, perfect for relaxing after paddleboarding on the River Stour or taking a vintage ferry to Mudeford Beach huts.
It was part of a new scheme by CAMRA and Airbnb, who have teamed up to transform the unused rooms of British pubs into cosy stays.
(Image: The Thomas Tripp) Co-owner Dave Burns said: "Like many pubs across the country, the Tripp is an integral pillar of the local community, and has been for generations. Whilst the entire industry is feeling the pinch, independents like ourselves have been particularly vulnerable, so Airbnb’s investment into the pub is truly life changing.
"Not only do we hope to keep this a place that is special to locals, but now we want to help more unlikely tourists discover the hidden gem that is Christchurch."
The Thomas Tripp was among three independent rural pubs given the staycation boost, including The Townhouse in Lymington where owner Dave King has transformed two unused rooms upstairs to help ensure the future of the business for his wannabe publican eight-year-old son.
The three pubs, the other in Derbyshire, now join 350 British watering holes already listed on Airbnb that are helping towns and businesses benefit from more overnight guests.
